Escaping The Rasthgores

When thinking about this moment I was exploring with a simple theme in mind, and that was to dig into moments growing up with my brother. I remember a very specific memory riding bike with my brother. It was hailing and it was so exciting to slide the bike around it. I thought I was going to die. And this moments I treasure so much that become the emotional core of the piece.
Small comps like these where I could explore the bond of the brothers gave me the first hints of the moment I was going to explore. The one in the middle had something that caught my attention, and I wanted to see how far I could push it.

Sketching is a very valuable step in the process, I start with childlike explorations that give me a notion, and slowly create iterations to improve the idea.
I did a simple mockup in Nomad 3D to have a better idea of the space, the goal of this piece was to focus more on the color and the emotion of the moment, but still I think it’s important to be able to “taste” how big is the world and think on other possibilities.
The most important thing of this piece it was to capture both emotions of Z and Korg and their bond through this memories.
